What is a Public Market?

...

Think of the ancient Greek concept of the Agora...

Agora

/ 'a-g&-r&/ ('Ah-gore-ah)

noun

"The public open space that formed the heart of ancient Greek cities.  It is the origin of most western conceptions of public space as center for social interaction for ceremony and democratic life on a pedestrian scale"

The Public Market at Main Street Station is attempting to resculpt

the agora for these American times.  The Market as the "center for social interactions" and commerce for our towns and cities could help reestablish the interconnectedness of people as the primary force behind the American consciousness.  There is something so natural, almost innate, to this realignment of priorities.

Avid capitalist, fear not... for this more blissful way to proceed, is after all, centered around a market. During our journey through the market, we not only connect our minds but also our money!

The water of ingenuity and self-sufficiency moistens the seed of humanity, and so our society cycles once again, blossoming from the agora.
